I have created a reading BINGO sheet for all students. It's just a fun tool to help encourage
students and families to continue reading during distance learning
time.
The public librarian and I have also made Overdrive accessible to all
students. Overdrive is an online ebook and audiobook library that
students and parents can access through the public library. All they
need is a device (iPad, iPod, smart phone, tablet, etc.)
and internet or data. If anyone is interested, contact Megan T. at the
public library. There is a really great selection of books on Overdrive!
I would highly recommend checking it out.
I have also attached a list of websites with free access
to online books that might be interesting and helpful. The library
website has some online resources that you could also direct families
to: www.thslibraries.weebly.com
I added links to virtual field trips to the library website. The page
with all of the links is right under the "Online Resources" tab. As far
as I know, they should all be free to access. There
are trips to museums, aquariums, national parks, the International
Space Station, and a rainforest, just to name a few!
