5th and 6th grade students:

First, I hope all of you and your families are doing well.  Second, I miss all of you and so miss doing activities with all of you.

I was so excited this year with the pace run and the improvement that most of you made.  When we did the mile at the track in the fall, how much you had improved from the previous year and was looking forward to seeing improvements at the track as well.

So, with the weather getting nicer, I hope you get outside and jog, run, sprints, or bike.  It can be for periods of 30 seconds, 1 minute, 2 minutes or more.  I just hope you get out and run.  And if you want to, you can send me a message, telling me what you're doing, or pictures /videos too.

We didn't get to see our improvements for sit-ups either.  So, I hope you will do sit-ups, push -ups, burpees, jumping jacks, and other movements as well.

I'm not asking you to do it everyday, but to do what you can and challenge yourself to do more and farther.  And the big thing is just to be active.  Your physical health is as important as your mental health, and intellectual knowledge.

I myself am trying to stay active by working out on my elliptical, yard work, and my garden.  I'm going to air up the tires on my bike and begin riding as well.

Stay healthy and be safe,

Mr. Mencke
